One plot device, to rule them all. One by one, the free lands of Equestria fell to the power of the chest. But there were some who resisted.
A last alliance of free ponies marched against the armies of the corrupted Crystal Empire. And on the slopes of the Citadel, they fought for the freedom of Equestria. It was within this moment, when all hope seemed lost, that Princess Faust, student of Zacherle, took up her mentor's scepter!
Sombra, the enemy of the free ponies of Equestria... was defeated.
The chest passed to Faust, who had but one chance to destroy evil forever! But the hearts of Princesses... are easily corrupted. And the chest of power has a will of it's own.
It betrayed Queen Faust to her death. And some things that should not have been forgotten... were lost. History became legend. Legend became myth. And for two and a half thousand years... the chest passed out of all knowledge.
Until, when chance came... it would ensnare a new bearer...
